Having trouble using 2 codes simultaneously : gotta tweak the midi channel of one at each use...

Hi,

we use 2 codes for our live PA

one is code 1, one is version 2

we installed the new firmwares, one with the new and one with the special firmware "aliasB" for using 2 codes

so far it is working good

but we can't save the midi channel

here is what we have to do each time we use our setup:

plug code 2, launch editor, press "bank" button 2 on the editor GUI, then "save"

plug code 1, that is by default on midi channel 1

then we got the 2 codes working like a charm each on its own midi channel

so far it works, but we still need to do this operation before playing and I'd like to have the codes remember their own assigned midi channel...

anyway to do this?

I can confirm it looks like the "Current Bank" is not being saved properly to the controller.

You could get fancy and set the bank channel via sysex from your software at the start of your set.

Or... you could use the Bank Cycle Button to toggle to the second bank

Ok wait... I think I have a solution for you.

Instead of trying to have the Code default to a specific Bank on start - you should just change the Bank Chs for each Bank.

So - both Codes start up in Bank 1, but on a different channels.

for example - try this setup:

Code 1 - leave as default

Code 2

Bank

1 2 3 4

Bank Chs

5 6 7 8

and "Save Settings". This save OK for me here.

So - Code 2 would use channel 5 for Bank 1, and so forth.

I'll have en eye on it at the end of the week, the codes are not by my house, I'll use the present use for this saturday's gig;
