Do you have QuickTime installed? Version of Java and .NET?
Java installed (Version 7 Update 45)
i get this error when i quit the application
What graphics card do you have? Do you have the latest drivers installed?
i went and double checked the graphics drivers at intel and there was an update, windows update was saying it was updated but it was not. currently testing it, i turned on most of the effects and got a crash, is 14 frames/sec a decent frame rate?
what codec are your files using?
photojpeg quicktime mov files, no compression. will it help to use compression?
The embded graphics modules such as Intel HD are generally not awesome for live video. They share memory with the host, and tend to run out quickly. The audio driver crash is somewhat odd. Are you using audio at all?
My machine does have audio but I delete the audio from the clips when prepping them as 1080x720 photojpeg with no compression. I'm lucky to get a 19 frames/sec sometimes hovers around 14 which makes it really jerky to try and sync to music bpm. I have another machine win95 P4 with 3GB ram and a nvidia GTForce GT 610 Graphics card with 2 GB ram but it still pegs out the CPU on that machine at 90-100%. My Laptop hovers around 15% which is not really an issue.
Also another issue is if I have a dual monitor connected when I start Cell DNA, It automatically takes control of my second monitor and forces it into a 640x480, I have full screen off and my display in cell DNA preferences is set at 1080x720. If I start Cell DNA first the attach the second monitor it does not try to change the resolution.

Sorry for missing this. There is a preference for changing the fullscreen resolution - you get a dialog when you press "fullscreen." You can tick this off if you like. Do you not get that dialog when you press fullscreen?
I have the screen resolution working fine now. Trying to get the software more stable, will using H.264 compression help or hurt performance?
I bought a another computer I-5 with 8GB Ram and 2GB Graphics card, windows 8 and it seems to working good on that machine. thankyou for the help,
Jason - H264 is no good. Try the recommended setting by Livid - 640 x 480 PhotoJpeg @ 75% quality
(deinterlaced is better). Or 640 x 360 for 16:9 widescreen format content.
As Peter already pointed out the graphics card is likely to be the main problem.
