Builder. Panel mounted LED Switch for Brain V2

edited September 2013 in Hardware

Hi,

Sorry if this is a really basic question but I am pretty new to electronics.

As i understand it all buttons need a diode between the switch and the row header. If you had an illuminated push button with a built in LED, could you just wire the return wire from the switch through the LED and then back to the row on the brain header?
You wouldn't be able to freely assign the LED, and it would only come on when the switch was pressed, or have i got that wrong?

Also should i only be looking for SPST type switches?

Thanks
Amar

  • That would probably work! Yes SPST are the simplest to wire.

You could also wire the LED to the LED header and enable local control so that the LED comes on and off when the midi note is played.
